Social activist Swami Agnivesh died after a cardiac arrest Friday night on the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in Delhi. He was 80 years previous. Admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, Swami Agnivesh was being handled for liver cirrhosis and had been on ventilator help following multi-organ failure.

“The demise of Swami Agnivesh is a large tragedy. A real warrior for humanity & tolerance. Among the many bravest that I knew… prepared to take enormous dangers for public good. Was brutalised in Jharkhand by a BJP/RSS lynch mob 2 years in the past. Liver acquired broken,” Mr Bhushan mentioned.
In July 2018 Swami Agnivesh was brutally assaulted, allegedly by BJP Yuva Morcha employees chanting “Jai Sri Ram”, in Jharkhand’s Pakur, the place he was supporting tribal communities’ protest towards land acquisition by the state.
