A retired naval officer was overwhelmed in Mumbai allegedly by activists of Maharashtra’s ruling Shiv Sena for forwarding a cartoon mocking Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Pictures posted on-line confirmed Madan Sharma with wounds on his face and a bloodshot eye. The 65-year-old was allegedly attacked close to his residence in Kandivalli East, Mumbai.
An FIR has been registered within the case.
Mr Sharma, in his criticism, stated he had forwarded the cartoon to his residential society’s WhatsApp group. He later acquired a name from one Kamlesh Kadam, who requested his identify and handle. Within the afternoon, he was known as exterior the constructing and was attacked by a gaggle of males.
Safety footage that’s being broadly shared reveals the previous officer being thrashed by males, principally sporting masks.

A BJP MLA has slammed Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the incident.
“The ruling Shiv Sena which confirmed its masculinity by demolishing the workplace of actor Kangana Ranaut has now overwhelmed a retired Navy officer and has injured his eye. The Chief Minister is operating dictatorship from his home,” Atul Bhatkhalkar, BJP MLA from Mumbai’s Kandivali East constituency, tweeted in Hindi.
5 individuals, together with Kamlesh Kadam, has been arrested within the case.
