Filmmaker Chaitanya Tamhane has charmed the critics along with his second characteristic movie “The Disciple”, which had its world premier on the 2020 Venice Movie Pageant.

The Marathi-language movie is the primary Indian film in 20 years to be chosen for the principle competitors of a European movie pageant (Cannes, Venice, Berlin) after Mira Nair’s “Monsoon Wedding ceremony” in Venice in 2001.

The film, which seems on the world of classical musicians on the fringes of success, was screened on the pageant on Friday and has been getting glowing critiques from the worldwide critics.

“The Disciple” is Tamhane’s follow-up to his debut characteristic “Court docket” which was screened within the Orizzonti (Horizons) class at Venice in 2016.

Tamhane, the movie’s lead star Aditya Modak, manufacturing designer Pooja Talreja and producer Vivek Gomber attended the premier.
