Apple is all set to roll out the iOS 14 update to iPhone users in India after 10:30PM, September 16. The new iOS 14 update will be rolled out ahead of the iPhone 12 launch which is expected to happen anytime next month. Apple will also roll out the iPadOS 14 as well. Apple iPhone and iPad users in India can check for the update by visiting the Settings menu around 10:30 PM. Having said that iOS 14 beta users have already received the update on September 15.
The new iOS 14 update is around 4.3GB in size and comes with new features and more focus on user privacy. However, the much talked about feature that enables users to take control as to whether they want to be tracked by advertisers or not will be missed. Apple has delayed the feature and is expected to roll it out at a later date.
With iOS14, iPhone users get an all-new Home Screen. Apple is revamping the Home Screen with iOS 14. iPhone users will be able to move apps around as well as group them in new ways thanks to the App Library. Apps can also be automatically grouped as per categories.
Apple is bringing widgets to iPhones’ home screen. Users will be able to add widgets to the home screen and customise them. The new Smart Stack feature will allow users to place multiple widgets on top of each other and swipe through them to see the content.
Apple has added new features to make Messages smarter. These include face mask customisations, new memoji options and ability to respond directly to a specific comment. Users will also be able to pin specific conversations, this means the people they chat with most can always be on top. The direct message feature will allow you to ping someone specifically in that group.
Siri is getting an all-new look with iOS14 including a big, colourful icon and it will no longer take your entire screen. It will appear at the top of the display inside a notification window.
